In yet another blow to Bay Area Rapid Transit system, people angered by the shootings by the train system's police officers have planned to gather again on Monday at a downtown San Francisco train station, a continuation of demonstrations by these people.
BART has been at the center of controversy about shootings by its officers, the latest being last month that resulted in the death of Charles Hill, 45.
Last week hackers attacked BART's website and posted the home addresses and other information of all 102 police officers on the train system's police force.
BART officials are planning to step up the security level at volatile Civic Center station. Train officials in a statement said-"BART may need to close some stations temporarily or make other service adjustments on short notice."
According to organizers OpBart, the demonstration is scheduled to start at about 5 p.m.. In recent past stations have witnessed angry crowd shouting angry climbing the station walls.
BART officials also tried to supress protesters by cutting cell phone signals at some subway stations. The decision to cut cell phone service sparked criticism from civil liberty organizations.
