Nokia's new entry in the market, Nokia Lumia 710, a Windows Phone that is designed to be affordable. The touchscreen handset runs on Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) OS, which supports all kinds of software. Lumia comes with a 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Scorpion Processor
with a clock rate speed of 1400 MHz. This is very responsive and thus
enhances the performance of the phone. The Nokia handset also supports
a 512 MB RAM and has Adreno 205 GPU.
Display: It sports a 3.7-inch LCD screen with ClearBlack technology, which means it remains clear and bright even outside in the sunshine. The CBD filter apparently enhance the black levels as well as contrast level. It does seem to work well as the LCD screen here is one of the better ones I have viewed, though it doesn’t quite reach the level of the iPhone 4S’s IPS display.
Camera: On its round back, you can find a 5 MP AF camera with single LED flash. It isn’t a Carl Zeiss branded lens. I have always believed that like Sony’s old Cybershot cameras with Zeiss optics, Nokia manufacturers all their lenses, Carl Zeiss branding or not. The camera is also capable of recording videos in 720p HD resolution with continues auto focus.
Battery: It includes 1300mAh battery. The battery capacity is smaller than what I think should be included in a smartphone. The Battery can be replaced by the user which makes it differ from it's unibody cousin. Power users would be adviced to invest in a second battery as the battery here struggles to last a full working day on heavy use. The Windows Phone Battery Saver program allows users to extend the battery life further by automatically turning off none-essential services like background emails.
Hardware: In the memory section , the phone suffers a major setback. While it have 8 GB internal memory and 512 MB ram, but it don't support external memory cards.
Pros:
1. 3.7” LCD ClearBlack display with WVGA resolution provides crisp bright colors. The overall contrast is good.
2. 1.4ghz Scorpion CPU, Adreno 205 GPU, Qualcomm MSM8255 chipset coupled with 512 mb ram provide a buttery smooth experience. It is very close to what you will get even on the costliest windows phone.
3. Video Recording offers good resolution and colors, bit rate is quite high.
4. 8gb on board storage (At this price, it is excellent).
5. Free life-time voice guided navigation.
Cons:
1. No front camera. Video calling facility not available which loosens its competition with its competitors especially samsung omnia.
2. Disappointing battery life. We may improve the battery life by turning off multitasking , but it isn’t the most pleasing option. With moderate usage, it may not even last a full day.
3. Disastrous audio quality. Far away from today's smartphone audio requirement.
4. The other cons include the limitations of Windows Phone OS. No expandable storage, no Bluetooth file
transfer, no DivX/XviD support out of the box, over-dependence on Zune.
