Jaspal Bhatti, the famous satirist and a staunch supporter of common man cause is no more. The laughter guru met a road accident near Punjab's Nakodar town, 40 km from Jalandhar, on early Thursday, Jalandhar Police confirmed. 
  
Bhatti was on his way to Jalandhar where he was to end his 40 day promotional tour for his latest film Power Cut. Bhatti was accompanied by his son Jasraj, film's actress Surili Gautam and another person. 
 
Bhatti was declared dead by doctors in a jalandhar hospital while the rest three are injured. Jasraj was driving the car when it collided with a tree. 
 
The cremation is expected to take place later this evening after his 
body is brought here after completion of various legal formalities, 
including post-mortem, sources confirmed. 
 
For more than two decades, Bhatti had been a famous face among the comedy loving audience with his comedy shows and
 appearances. His TV shows "Ulta-Pulta" and "Flop Show" had entertained 
TV audiences in late 1980s and 1990s. Bhatti was an active participant in social causes.  
He has acted in many Bollywood and local movies. 
 
He had also directed a film "Mahaul Theek Hai", a satire on the police, administration and society, in 1999.   
 
Bhatti left behind his wife Savita, son Jasraj and a daughter.
