The country singer Randy Travis has been hospitalized in Dallas with heart problems and was listed in critical condition, claims the sources.
Randy, 54, was admitted to hospital on Sunday
because of complications related to his "recently acquired viral
cardiomyopathy," Travis spokesman Kirt Webster said in a written
statement. Viral cardiomyopathy is a disorder where a virus attacks the muscles of
the heart, causing the heart to beat slower, according to the U.S.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's website.
His sister-in-law Teresa Traywick told media- "We have been told he has had surgery. Our prayers are going out to him
because my husband just had a heart attack last year, so it is in their
family. Their mother passed away at an early
age with her heart, so it is like these boys are following right in
their footsteps. My prayers are with them. That's all I can say right
now."
The singer of super hits as Forever and Ever, Amen, On the Other Hand and Three Wooden Crosses is said to be in critical condition after being admitted.
As one of country music's top-selling artists, Travis has won seven
Grammys, 10 Academy of Country Music awards and 10 American Music Award
statuettes.
